Audit Associate Job Description The Audit Associate reviews and analyzes payroll, tax, and accounting records to determine the appropriate premium base for multiple insurance lines, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability. This role gathers detailed information about business operations and employee job duties, completes audit worksheets using Excel templates, and processes audit findings in an internal database. Responsibilities Review and analyze payroll, tax, and accounting records to determine the appropriate premium base for various insurance lines such as Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability. Obtain detailed descriptions of business operations, employee job duties, and other relevant information via phone and email. Complete audit worksheets accurately using established Excel templates, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Work within existing Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas to organize, reconcile, and analyze audit data. Process audit findings in the company's database, ensuring timely and accurate entry of all relevant information. Perform reconciliations between source documents, accounting records, and audit results to identify discrepancies. Apply auditing principles to evaluate the completeness and accuracy of payroll, tax, and general ledger information. Collaborate with internal teams and external contacts as needed to clarify data, resolve issues, and finalize audit outcomes. Maintain organized documentation and records for each audit in accordance with internal standards and procedures. Adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to auditing and insurance premium calculations. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related business field; or an associate's degree with at least 2 years of experience in auditing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, or general ledger accounting. GPA above 3.0 for candidates qualifying with a bachelor's or associate's degree pathway. Demonstrated auditing experience, including the ability to review and interpret payroll, tax, and accounting records. Hands-on experience with reconciliations in an accounting or finance environment. Ability to work confidently within pre-built Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas. Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts, including payroll, tax, and general ledger processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and audit worksheet completion. Effective verbal and written communication skills for obtaining information via phone and email. Attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents and processing audit findings. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured audit environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working with large data sets and performing analytical reviews using Excel. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain clear, comprehensive audit documentation. Interest in professional development and growth within an audit, accounting, or insurance-related environment. Ability to collaborate with colleagues and external contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Willingness to learn company-specific systems, databases, and procedures related to insurance premium audits. Work Environment This role is based in Jenkins Township, PA, in a modern office setting that supports a hybrid work model. The first 1-2 weeks are remote for onboarding and training, followed by a regular schedule with on-site work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and remote work on three days each week.
