The Chicago audit practice is continuing to grow across both Commercial Real Estate and Financial Services , creating immediate opportunities for strong Audit Seniors and Audit Managers who are ready for their next step. This is a hybrid opportunity in Chicago with a competitive compensation package of $110,000 - $160,000 base salary plus bonus , depending on experience, level, and qualifications. Practice Areas Hiring Commercial Real Estate Audit The Commercial Real Estate team works with clients across the real estate industry, including: Owners and operators Developers Real estate investment groups Property management companies Real estate funds REITs and related commercial real estate entities Financial Services Audit The Financial Services team works with clients across the financial services space, including: Private equity funds Hedge funds Investment advisors Broker-dealers Asset management firms Other financial services and investment-related entities Responsibilities The Audit Senior / Audit Manager will support and/or lead audit, review, and assurance engagements for clients within either the Commercial Real Estate or Financial Services practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Perform and/or oversee audit, review, and assurance engagements from planning through completion. Work closely with engagement teams, clients, managers, senior managers, and partners to manage timelines, deliverables, and audit execution. Review financial statements, workpapers, audit testing, supporting documentation, and audit conclusions for accuracy and compliance. Identify accounting, reporting, and audit issues while providing thoughtful recommendations to clients and internal teams. Build strong client relationships through consistent communication, technical guidance, and high-quality service. Support engagement planning, budgeting, workflow management, and deadline execution. For Manager-level candidates, supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors while helping manage client relationships and engagement economics. Ideal Candidate Background We are looking for candidates with public accounting audit experience in either Commercial Real Estate or Financial Services .
Qualified candidates should bring:
2+ years of public accounting audit experience for Senior-level opportunities. 5+ years of public accounting audit experience for Manager-level opportunities. Experience auditing clients in Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate, REITs, Funds, Financial Services, Asset Management, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Broker-Dealers, or related industries. Experience performing or managing audit engagements from planning through completion. Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit methodology, financial reporting, and client service best practices. Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Chicago. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and desire to grow within a nationally recognized firm. CPA or CPA eligibility preferred. CPA strongly preferred for Manager-level candidates. Compensation $110,000 - $160,000 base salary + bonus Compensation will depend on experience, level, practice area, CPA status, and overall qualifications. Financial Services Audit Senior Ideal for a strong audit senior or experienced associate with exposure to funds, investment management, broker-dealers, asset management, or other financial services clients. Financial Services Audit Manager Ideal for an experienced audit leader who can manage financial services engagements, oversee staff and seniors, maintain client relationships, and support a growing practice.
