Job Description

Premium Auditor SIF (Idaho State Insurance Fund) is a leader in Idaho workers' compensation. We are currently seeking an Idaho Falls-based Premium Auditor to join our team! In this position you will use your exceptional communication skills to collaborate with policyholders, agents, and internal teams as you conduct workers compensation premium audits for Idaho businesses in Idaho Falls and the surrounding area. Additionally, you will review and update risk exposure, as well as assist policyholders and agents with their inquiries regarding premium audits. We'll be looking for YOU to: Perform field audits of policyholder payroll records, systems and other related documents as required to facilitate adjustment of premium within the policy contract, Idaho law, and applicable National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) rules and regulations. Review policyholder operations to include business ownership, change of exposure, claims, NCCI classifications, and potential work site hazards. Provide comprehensive written audit reports within established timeframes and audit standards. Work with Underwriters to review exposure concerns. Establish and maintain professional customer service relationships with policyholders, their representatives, and insurance agents. Maintain knowledge of current industry changes and trends that include NCCI, Idaho Code, legal decisions, and SIF standards.
Your background should include:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics (or a related discipline), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 3 - 5 years of experience in a workers' compensation insurance setting. Proficient knowledge of laws associated with workers compensation insurance underwriting including NCCI guidelines and Idaho Code Title 72. Ability to interpret and explain insurance laws and policy contracts. Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations involving decimals, fractions, and percentages. Capability to gather sensitive and confidential information through effective interviewing. Capability of producing grammatically correct reports in a clear and concise manner. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and high level of organizational skills. Strong time management capabilities with ability to independently complete work assignments within specified timeframes. Must possess a valid Idaho driver's license and a reliable source of transportation. Ability to travel approximately 80% of the time throughout Idaho Falls and the surrounding area.
