McMahan and Associates is a regional CPA firm specializing in local governments, not-for-profit organizations, community associations, and other public sector clients, looking for a Senior Auditor to join our team. If you have a passion for auditing and a drive to learn and grow, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead audit engagements from planning through completion, including risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting phases. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact during engagements. Identify, communicate, and resolve audit issues and recommend process improvements to clients. Supervise and manage team members while managing multiple engagements Stay up to date on latest developments in audit standards, accounting regulations, and industry best practices. Assist with internal process improvements and contribute to the growth of the firm's audit practice.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting 3-5 years of audit experience CPA designation preferred or demonstrated progress toward obtaining CPA certification Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Prior public accounting audit experience, ideally with governmental, not-for-profit, or public sector clients. Ability to exercise critical thinking, be self-motivated, and work as part of a team Ability to work at our Denver or Avon office (remote hybrid), and travel to our Colorado client locations as needed.
