Immediately Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented I-9 & E-Verify Compliance Audit Specialist for a project-based temporary assignment in San Antonio, TX. This individual will assist with reviewing employee records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established employment eligibility verification requirements. The primary focus of this project will be auditing Form I-9 and E-Verify records , identifying missing or incomplete information, documenting discrepancies, and assisting with necessary follow-up and corrections. The ideal candidate is highly accurate, organized, comfortable reviewing a high volume of records, and able to handle confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion. Core Responsibilities Audit Form I-9 records for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation. Review I-9s to identify missing information, incomplete sections, errors, or discrepancies requiring follow-up. Verify that required I-9 sections were completed within applicable timeframes. Review E-Verify case records and confirm cases were created and processed appropriately. Identify missing, incomplete, late, or unresolved E-Verify cases and document findings. Compare employee information across I-9, E-Verify, onboarding, and internal records to identify inconsistencies. Maintain detailed audit logs and accurately document findings, corrections, and outstanding items. Assist with coordinating corrections and follow-up documentation while maintaining required audit trails. Organize electronic and/or physical employee documentation to support accurate recordkeeping. Escalate compliance concerns or unusual discrepancies to the appropriate HR or compliance team member. Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee records and personally identifiable information. Follow established company procedures for document retention, storage, and access. Provide regular updates regarding audit progress and outstanding items. Support additional HR, onboarding, and compliance-related project needs as assigned. Qualifications Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Ability to review a high volume of documentation while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Strong ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and documentation errors. Excellent follow-through and ability to track outstanding items through completion. Comfortable working with electronic records, spreadsheets, and HR/onboarding systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications. Ability to work independently while consistently following established procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately. Previous experience with Form I-9, E-Verify, HR compliance, employee onboarding, HR administration, or personnel file auditing is strongly preferred. Preferred Experience Previous hands-on experience completing or auditing Form I-9s. Familiarity with E-Verify case creation and case results. Experience conducting employee file or compliance audits. Staffing, high-volume hiring, HR, or onboarding experience is a plus. Pay:
$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
