Audit Supervisor

Wegner CPAs is seeking an experienced auditor with a focus on employee benefit plan audits and ERISA compliance requirements. The ERISA Auditor will lead and execute high-quality benefit plan audits, support client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our assurance practice. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and complete audits of employee benefit plans (401(k), 403(b), pension, health & welfare plans, ESOPs, etc.) in accordance with

regulations, and ERISA requirements Perform risk assessments, develop audit strategies, and prepare audit programs tailored to each engagement Review and test plan eligibility, contributions, distributions, participant data, and compliance with plan documents Evaluate internal controls and identify compliance gaps, reporting issues, and process improvement opportunities Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and required supplemental schedules for Form 5500 filings Ensure audit documentation meets firm and regulatory standards Communicate audit progress, findings, and recommendations to clients clearly and professionally Supervise and mentor staff accountants and seniors; review workpapers and provide training and coaching Stay current on evolving ERISA, DOL, and AICPA guidance impacting benefit plan audits Support firm initiatives including audit quality, process improvement, and client service excellence Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred) CPA license required (or active progress toward certification) 3+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on ERISA/employee benefit plan audits Proven experience leading ERISA engagements from planning through issuance Strong understanding of

reporting requirements, and employee benefit plan audit standards Experience with audit software and paperless workpaper systems Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines, particularly during busy season Excellent analytical, communication, and client service skills Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of employee benefit plan audit experience Experience reviewing or preparing Form 5500 supplemental schedules Familiarity with
