This is not a training position. We are looking for someone who already has experience in a Collision Center. If you DO NOT have at least 5 years' experience please do not apply as we will not respond to your application
OVERVIEW
The body shop estimator is responsible for estimating and pricing vehicle parts, body shop equipment and other related services. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in order to provide accurate estimates of costs while maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, possess strong organizational skills, and be self-motivated, organized, reliable, flexible and punctual. This person must also be comfortable working on multiple projects at once; this individual should not only enjoy challenging tasks but handle changing priorities as well.
Detailed job duties include:
Provide accurate pricing and quotes for all vehicles. Prepare estimates using the CCC estimating system, and work directly with DRP affiliated insurance companies. Assign quotes to customers by phone, email, and in person. Provide detailed price information on each vehicle (including cost of parts) as well as other pertinent information that may be needed to prepare an estimate. Perform pre-approval inspections with clients' prioritization before making any final decisions for scope of work. Compensation will increase with growth. Must have excellent communication skills as you will be greeting and working with customers face-to-face. Follow up skills, and consistent updating of work status is a must. Continually monitor work progress to assure timely completion Thoroughly and accurately diagnosing damage by questioning client about vehicle performance and visual inspection. Identifying additional service sales opportunities and obtaining client agreement to purchase. Accurately quoting prices for all repairs before work is conducted; identifying means of payment/gain credit approval; and obtaining client signature on repair order. Inspecting and testing work to assure quality and completeness. Notifying client of completed repair in timely manner, explaining repair(s) and answering client questions, and escorting client to vehicle. Aiding in the daily activities of the shop including: communications with technicians, painters, other departments within the dealership, insurance company representatives, parts wholesalers, and customers. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards Perform other duties as assigned Qualification CCC One and Mitchell experience preferred Must be able to work in a car shop environment Ability and willingness to learn new skills, including the ability for self-improvement Must have excellent communication skills with customers A minimum of 5 years consistent experience is a must.
