Full-time (occasional Saturdays required) Position Overview Are you an experienced mechanic ready to transition out of the shop and into a professional office environment? We are seeking a Mechanical Claims Specialist to join a growing customer contact team. In this role, you will leverage your automotive expertise to evaluate warranty claims, guide customers and repair facilities through the claims process, and deliver accurate claim decisions. This position offers a great opportunity to step into a less physically demanding role while continuing to apply your technical knowledge in a meaningful, customer-focused way. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, investigate, and process automotive warranty claims with accuracy and efficiency Use mechanical knowledge to determine whether repairs are approved, denied, or require additional steps Communicate with dealerships, repair facilities, and vehicle owners via phone and email Explain claim decisions clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical individuals Guide customers through the claims process, including how to obtain diagnostics and repair estimates Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within internal systems Deliver exceptional customer service through active listening, empathy, and solution-focused communication Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery Call Types You'll Handle Dealerships calling to verify if repairs are covered under warranty guidelines Vehicle owners seeking clarification on claim approvals or denials Customers needing direction on next steps for diagnosing and repairing issues Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of automotive repair or mechanical experience Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, customer-friendly way Prior customer service experience , including handling complex or escalated situations Strong verbal communication and phone skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills High school diploma or GED required Preferred Qualifications ASE Certification Experience with labor guide systems (e.g., AllData, Mitchell) Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools Experience in claims processing or warranty environments Bilingual (English/Spanish) Work Environment & Requirements 2-week onsite training required (travel to training location required) Remote or hybrid work available after training Must have reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace Fast-paced environment with a combination of phone and email support Occasional Saturday availability required What We're Looking For A mechanic ready to pivot into a customer-focused, office-based role Strong communicator who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences A proactive problem-solver with a customer-first mindset Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Experience Level Entry to Mid-Level (based on automotive experience) Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
