This role is responsible for running the branch like a business—balancing leadership, operations, and strategy to drive results. The ideal candidate models disciplined execution, builds high-performing teams, and cultivates a culture of safety, service, and accountability. This role's performance is measured through the Branch Manager Scorecard, directly tied to key performance indicators (KPIs) and aligned to the strategic plan. Create a culture where employees feel seen, valued, and supported. Lead daily coaching, proactive recruiting, and development activities. Meet and exceed retention goals through ongoing engagement strategies. Build lasting customer relationships by anticipating needs and resolving issues quickly. Use structured follow-ups to improve loyalty and repeat business. Maintain or exceed local customer satisfaction targets. Own execution of local sales and revenue growth plans. Monitor key sales metrics and drive accountability for lead conversion, customer expansion, and margin improvement. Take proactive action to address underperformance. Champion a culture of safety and compliance; ensure zero recordable incidents. Model safety best practices and lead frequent safety observations, discussions, and trainings. Hold the team accountable to all safety standards and processes. Execute regional sales strategy at the branch level, adjusted for local customer segments and trends. Lead weekly sales meetings, accompany reps on customer visits, and provide insight to improve cross-selling. Grow market share and uncover new opportunities through team collaboration and competitive insight. Apply data-informed pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability. Manage cost controls, upselling, and fleet utilization to improve branch-level financial health. Consistently monitor P&L and adjust local execution accordingly. Establish a culture of accountability and urgency through effective communication. Provide regular updates, align the team with company goals, and create space for feedback and dialogue. Reinforce company values in day-to-day leadership. Operational Excellence & Branch Performance Use dispatch, yard, and service metrics (e.g., events per driver, yard/job turn time, tech productivity) to optimize operations. Ensure reliable service through efficient use of people, fleet, and tools. Drive continuous improvement—even with system limitations. Maintain 70%+ utilization for major and 30%+ for minor equipment. Reallocate underutilized fleet and minimize dwell/unavailable time. Align fleet mix with customer demand and achieve disposal targets. Plan the work and work the plan—prioritize high-impact activities and meet deadlines consistently. Complete all required administrative work accurately and on time. Follow standard protocols and hold self/others accountable to a high standard of execution. Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or related field and/or the equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience in branch, operations, or sales leadership, preferably in equipment rental or related industries. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage financials, and execute local market strategies. Strong relationship-building, customer service, and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in sales performance management and problem-solving in dynamic environments. Experience working with sales/district leadership to implement broader strategy. Familiarity with fleet and logistics operations. Track record of building engaged, accountable teams. Consistently adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines Ability to read, write, and speak in English, bilingual a plus Requires full range of motion, dexterity, agility, and strength to lift one's body into/out of large vehicles, trailers, equipment Capable of normally lifting 25 lbs., frequently lifting 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting 90 lbs. with the assistance of mechanical aid or lift assistance Minimum age of 21 years required to drive Company vehicles, requires a valid driver license and ability to maintain a good driving record qualifying to safely drive a Company vehicle for work purposes Class A or B CDL License a plus Must maintain a professional appearance Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
