The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the branch. This position oversees branch operations, sales growth, inventory management, customer satisfaction, employee development, and financial performance. The Branch Manager works closely with Regional Management and other company leaders to develop and execute business strategies that drive growth, operational excellence, and customer success. Job Responsibilities Sales and Business Development Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve margins, and grow market share. Manage and grow existing customer accounts while pursuing new business opportunities. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and sales representatives to strengthen customer relationships and drive sales growth. Monitor marketplace trends, competitive activity, and customer needs. Address customer concerns and satisfaction issues promptly and professionally. Participate in community, business, and industry organizations to enhance the branch's reputation and market presence. Inventory and Operational Oversight Oversee inventory management activities, including forecasting, planning, auditing, and inventory control. Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and accurately. Monitor inventory levels to support customer service and operational requirements. Work closely with purchasing, operations, and sales teams to optimize inventory investment and product availability. Leadership and Employee Development Hire, train, coach, and supervise branch personnel. Foster a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment. Provide leadership, direction, and support to employees to achieve branch and organizational goals. Evaluate employee performance and support professional development opportunities. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the branch. Compliance and Business Standards Partner with the Credit Department to ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices. Support compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws and company policies related to hiring, promotion, compensation, and workplace conduct. Maintain a professional image while representing the company within the community and industry. Continue developing knowledge of industry trends, products, management practices, and financial disciplines. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in a similar management position required. Four years of management experience preferred. Minimum of three years of progressive industry experience required. Four years of progressive industry experience preferred. Product and application experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Skills and Qualifications Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills. Demonstrated success managing branch operations and financial performance. Proven ability to achieve sales growth and profitability objectives. Experience developing and implementing business plans and strategic goals. Strong understanding of profit and loss management. Experience managing inventory, forecasting, auditing, and warehouse operations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective negotiation and relationship management abilities. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical business practices. Ability to identify market opportunities and respond to changing business conditions. Technical knowledge of company products and applications. Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills. Sound judgment and decision making abilities. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs. Team oriented leadership style with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization. Experience hiring, developing, evaluating, and retaining employees. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, inventory management systems, warehouse management systems, and distribution software. Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods of time. Ability to work in office, warehouse, and customer environments. Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel locally as needed to support customers, branch operations, and company initiatives. Ability to use computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment for extended periods.
