The Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for building member relationships by providing exceptional service, exceeding expectations and anticipating needs. Interacts with members to provide and process information in response to inquiries, questions and requests about products and services. Proactively resolves concerns and listens to member concerns in a helpful and patient manner. Effectively evaluates any risk to the member or UMCU when providing services. Provides high standards of service to members Assists with directing and coordinating all deposit and lending activities by the branch team members Assists in planning and managing all aspects of the branch. Performs the duties of any branch team member when necessary Communicates with other departments of the Credit Union to enhance member service Creates a team environment that facilitates engagement and team member participation Assists manager with training, development and performance of branch team members Reviews, makes recommendations, and implements improvements in branch operations. Ensures proper cash handling, balancing procedures, daily reconciliation of branch totals, and daily opening/ closing of the branch office Assists with responsibilities related to the daily operation, reconciliation and problem resolution of the branch ATM Acts as Branch Manager for Saturday work schedule rotation at assigned branch locations Prepares statistical and operational reports as needed Assists with conducting team meetings as needed Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations affecting financial institutions policies and procedures Reviews and modifies written procedures as needed Manages credit union security procedures Assists manager with facility responsibilities Volunteers in various activities sponsored by UMCU within the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor communities What you will need for this role? Associate's degree or equivalent; or 2 or more years of management experience, is preferred. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a financial institution is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be a team player and possess a high energy "can do" attitude
