Assistant Branch ManagerPosition Overview The Assistant Branch Manager works closely with and under the direction of the Branch Manager and Service Manager to support administrative operations, yard and office procedures, inventory control, and customer service. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example. The Assistant Branch Manager position is a split role encompassing both office and yard responsibilities. This position plays a key role in daily operations and equipment readiness. The Assistant Branch Manager will interact daily with customers, employees, and corporate partners, making relationship-building and follow-through critical to success. Accuracy, organization, and a positive, solutions-focused mindset are essential. This role requires a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to transition effectively between administrative tasks and physical, hands-on work in an industrial environment. Key ResponsibilitiesAdministration

• Work closely and under the direction of the Branch Manager
• Deliver outstanding customer service and assist with inside sales opportunities
• Assist with overseeing the required and scheduled maintenance and upkeep of branch facilities, vehicles, and equipment
• Work closely with the sales and product support teams to coordinate branch sales and administrative functions, including customer invoicing and statements
• Collaborate with corporate teams to implement policies, improve processes, and increase branch efficiency
• Collect customer information including large customer POs for repairs
• Manage repair shipments to and from the OLS/Murphy Tractor branches or customers
• Work with the service and operations manager to stock/order repair components and follow up on back-ordered items
• Point of contact for Murphy Tractor repairs
• Track certification and training requirements for the repair team, including required tooling Shop/Yard
• Safely operate a forklift to assist customers and employees with the safe and timely loading and unloading of rental equipment
• Test, inspect, and maintain rental equipment used by underground and heavy construction contractors Qualifications Required
• Previous management or supervisory experience
• Retail sales experience
• Strong team leadership and people management skills
• Knowledge of inventory control processes
• Proven customer service experience
• Experience in heavy construction, civil construction, rental operations, or related industries is a plus
• Forklift experience
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Customer focused mindset
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
• Experience or an interest in heavy and underground construction industries
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail
