If so, Blossman Gas would like to see your application toward an opening for Service Manager / Assistant Branch Manager at our showroom location in Gastonia, NC. With more than 85 locations throughout 12 states, Blossman Gas is America's largest propane company. We celebrate 75 years of business this year. Due to our company's culture, these positions experience little turnover. Our Service Managers are responsible for effectively scheduling daily service work with our customers. This includes the regular use of a computer to utilize email and a point-of-sale scheduling system. Our Service Managers also highly engage with and complete daily the following: Properly schedule appliance and gas storage tank installations, new construction piping, and annual maintenance work. Ability and eagerness to work alongside Service Technicians and independently to install gas comfort equipment on such appliances as water heaters, hearth products, cooking, clothes dryers, generators, and more. Ability to make repairs when needed on these appliances. Success in this position will depend on a professional who understands service installation time frames, meeting company expectations for safety, and the need to provide a quality buying and installation experience for our customers. Being courteous, flexible, and understanding of customer needs are a must. Some site visit and quoting for new jobs will be part of the responsibilities, as will regular work on a computer and landline telephone. Possessing a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement is a plus but if the right candidate does not have this licensing, Blossman Gas will help them obtain it in a reasonable timetable. There will also be some broader-scope management responsibilities to support the Branch Manager with developing employees, maintaining safety expectations, and growth goals. Strong communication skills and moderate computer ability including the use of MS Office and learning new computer software are needed. 2-5 years of prior propane and/or service installation experience relating to gas piping, gas appliances, and hearth products preferred.
