About the Role As our Branch Manager , you will lead our Charlotte branch, serving as both the operational anchor and the driving force behind regional growth. Operating out of our local branch and warehouse, you will manage facility operations, support our existing customer accounts, and build a high-performing environment as our market footprint expands. Currently, our Charlotte, North Carolina footprint includes a dedicated team of on-site Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialists embedded at a primary customer location. In this role, you will oversee this field team and ensure exceptional service delivery, while actively seeking new opportunities to grow our customer base. As the branch evolves, you will adapt operations and lead a growing team to support a variety of accounts and service models.
Major Responsibilities Branch & Warehouse Operations Facility & Logistics Oversight:
Manage day-to-day branch and warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, local inventory management, budgeting, and facility upkeep.
Operational Decision-Making:
Serve as the primary decision-maker for daily operational, supply chain, and logistical challenges.
Safety & Compliance:
Establish and maintain a culture of safety across the warehouse facility and customer sites, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and material handling policies.
Vendor & Supplier Relations:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional suppliers, vendors, and freight partners.
Team Leadership & Account Support Team Leadership:
Direct, mentor, and develop employees, starting with our field-based VMI team and expanding leadership as new roles are added.
Account Execution:
Ensure customer requirements and service-level commitments are consistently met, providing logistical and operational backup to field staff.
Versatile Leadership:
Adapt team structure, processes, and workloads to support new customers and evolving service requirements as the branch expands.
Business Growth & Market Expansion Business Development:
Actively target, pursue, and secure new business opportunities to expand our regional customer footprint.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients through regular check-ins, site visits, and consultative support.
Service Solution Expansion:
Work with clients to identify their unique supply chain needs—whether standard distribution, VMI, or customized service models.
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in a sales/distribution environment.
Industry Knowledge:
5+ years of electrical industry experience. Familiarity with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or inventory management systems is a strong asset.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. A Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
