Position Overview:
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for managing the branch as an income center, working to achieve income and expense targets while supporting branch operations. This role includes engaging in community activities to enhance the bank's public profile, setting and communicating goals, and ensuring a collaborative work environment. The Assistant Branch Manager is expected to meet regularly with staff to communicate objectives, gather input, and drive high performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Training & Supervision:
Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies, or arrange necessary training. Supervise, manage, and make recommendations on the work of office, administrative, and customer service staff to ensure quality standards, adherence to deadlines, and proper procedures.
Performance Management:
Discuss job performance issues with employees to identify and resolve problems. Evaluate employee performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and recommend personnel actions as needed.
Customer Service & Issue Resolution:
Resolve customer complaints and address inquiries about policies and procedures. Cross-sell products by opening accounts (e.g., checking, savings, IRA, business accounts) and providing guidance on available bank services.
Branch Operations:
Operate the Teller window and handle safe deposit box updates. Maintain branch appearance and facilities to uphold company standards. Oversee vault operations, including balancing, auditing, and ensuring security protocols.
Risk & Account Management:
Maintain up-to-date Risk Ratings for all commercial customers. Manage Overdraft Protection (ODP) for the branch, including collection calls, customer counseling, account charge-offs, reporting to collection agencies, and determining eligibility for customers.
Reporting & Budgeting:
Complete and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports; monitor branch budget performance. Conduct branch audits and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures.
Community Engagement & Meetings:
Participate in community affairs to strengthen the bank's local presence. Attend Manager's Meetings and make regular customer calls to maintain strong client relationships.
Scheduling & Staffing:
Schedule branch staffing to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
Organizational Skills:
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.
Education and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
Work Environment:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer.
Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.
