Central Texas Full-Time Pay:
$140,000-$180,000 per year + performance incentives Legacy Cranes & Equipment is expanding into Central Texas and is seeking an experienced General Manager to establish, grow, and lead our new Austin-area operation. This is not a position managing an established branch. We are looking for a proven leader who wants the opportunity to build an operation from the ground up while having the equipment, financial resources, and support of an established crane company behind them. The General Manager will have significant responsibility and authority over the Austin operation, including business development, personnel, operations, fleet utilization, customer relationships, and branch financial performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the crane rental, heavy lift, rigging, or related heavy-equipment industry , along with strong relationships in the Central Texas market. Responsibilities Lead the establishment and startup of Legacy's Austin-area branch Recruit, hire, develop, and lead the local team Develop new business and establish Legacy's customer base throughout Central Texas Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key industry partners Oversee day-to-day crane rental and field operations Manage sales, revenue, expenses, fleet utilization, and branch profitability Identify local fleet requirements and make equipment recommendations based on market demand Work directly with Legacy leadership to deploy equipment and resources as the operation grows Oversee dispatch, scheduling, equipment mobilization, and customer service Assist with estimating, pricing, proposals, and major project opportunities Coordinate operators, equipment, transportation, maintenance, and jobsite requirements Develop relationships with industrial contractors, general contractors, EPC firms, infrastructure contractors, manufacturers, and other crane users Maintain high standards for equipment condition, reliability, and presentation Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements Build a strong local culture focused on safety, accountability, customer service, and performance Take ownership of the branch's long-term growth and financial results Qualifications We are seeking an experienced crane-industry professional with a demonstrated ability to lead people, develop customer relationships, and grow a business.Preferred qualifications:
Significant experience in crane rental, heavy lifting, and rigging. Previous branch management, operations management, sales management, or general management experience Strong knowledge of mobile crane operations and equipment capabilities Understanding of all-terrain, rough-terrain, truck, and crawler crane applications Proven sales and business-development ability Existing customer and industry relationships in Austin and/or Central Texas strongly preferred Experience in managing operators, field personnel, dispatch, sales, or operational teams Understanding of equipment utilization, rental rates, operating costs, and branch profitability Ability to recruit and develop a strong local team Strong leadership and decision-making skills Excellent communication and customer-service skills Strong commitment to safety Ability to operate independently and make sound business decisions Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to build and grow an operation What Legacy Provides Legacy Cranes & Equipment is an established and growing crane rental and heavy-lift company serving industrial, commercial, infrastructure, and construction customers. Our fleet includes truck cranes, rough-terrain cranes, all-terrain cranes, crawler cranes, and specialized heavy-lift equipment capable of supporting projects ranging from routine crane rental to major industrial and heavy-lift work. The Austin operation will have the backing of Legacy's existing organization, including: Extensive crane fleet and equipment resources Maintenance and service support Transportation and logistics Safety Lift planning and technical support Operations and dispatch resources Established management and executive support Capital and resources to grow the operation We are prepared to invest in the people, equipment, and infrastructure necessary to establish a significant long-term presence in Central Texas.Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$140,000-$180,000 per year, depending on experience In addition to base salary, the position offers significant performance-based incentive compensation tied to the success and profitability of the Austin operation. For a successful General Manager, total compensation has substantial upside and is not intended to be limited to the posted base salary range.Benefits include:
