Administrative Assistant & Bookkeeper:
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish - Wickliffe Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish - Wickliffe, Ohio Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and mission-driven individual to serve as our Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper. This position plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the parish while ensuring accurate financial stewardship in service of the Church's mission. This is an opportunity for someone who values both administrative excellence and faithful service, and who desires to contribute to a vibrant parish community. ⸻ Position Summary The Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper is responsible for providing administrative support to the parish office while maintaining the parish's financial records with accuracy and integrity. This role requires professionalism, confidentiality, and a collaborative spirit. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Administrative Duties
  • Serve as a welcoming presence in the parish office, greeting visitors and responding to phone/email inquiries
  • Assist with general office operations, scheduling, and correspondence
  • Maintain parish records and databases
  • Support parish communications as needed (bulletin coordination, announcements, etc.)
  • Collaborate with parish staff and volunteers on events and initiatives Bookkeeping & Financial Duties
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with diocesan policies
  • Prepare bank deposits and reconcile accounts
  • Assist in payroll processing and reporting
  • Generate financial reports for the pastor and finance council
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial transactions
  • Assist with budget tracking and annual reporting ⸻ Qualifications
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church ⸻ Work Schedule
  • Part-time or full-time (to be determined based on candidate and parish needs)
  • Some flexibility may be required during peak times (e.g., fiscal year-end, major parish events) ⸻ Compensation
