Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Junior Bookkeeper to support the daily accounting operations across five active companies with multiple income streams, properties, and bank accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic, hands-on environment with exposure to real estate, mortgage lending, and multi-entity accounting. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, and experienced with QuickBooks Online and general accounting procedures. Core Responsibilities Manage daily Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) Process vendor invoices, expense reports, tenant payments, and customer receipts Monitor and reconcile multiple bank accounts and credit card accounts Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Prepare and post journal entries Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple companies Assist with bookkeeping and financial record maintenance Process ACH payments, checks, wire transfers, and deposits accurately and timely Support accounting operations across several business entities and income streams Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies Assist with preparing financial statements and internal reports Maintain organized digital and physical financial documentation Communicate with vendors, tenants, clients, and internal team members regarding billing and payments Track recurring expenses, contracts, and due dates Assist with payroll support and expense tracking as needed Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Work closely with ownership and management to support smooth financial operations Skills Proven experience with accounting software platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping. Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis efficiently. Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting principles. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints. Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with team members on budgeting and financial planning.
