This vital role involves maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, proficiency with various financial software systems, and a keen eye for accuracy. As a key member of our finance team, you will support the organization's financial health by handling all bookkeeping responsibilities with precision and integrity. Duties Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, and Ceridian. Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy across all financial statements. Prepare journal entries and maintain double entry bookkeeping records in compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to record transactions and generate financial reports. Conduct data entry with high accuracy into various financial systems while safeguarding confidential information. Analyze financial data using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or trends that impact organizational decision-making. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements during all accounting processes. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Assist in the management of accounts receivable and payable processes to optimize cash flow and vendor relationships. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing requested documentation and explanations of financial records. Experience Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within a corporate or governmental setting demonstrating thorough knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting principles. Extensive experience working with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos or similar systems. Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and double entry bookkeeping. Familiarity with public accounting practices is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and account analysis. Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation and financial analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
