Full Job Description Description:

Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC is a criminal defense law firm located in Dublin, California, focused on providing high-quality legal representation in state and federal cases. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Human Resources, Accounts Payable & Billing Specialist to support our attorneys and staff in a fast-paced environment. This role requires experience with legal billing and a strong understanding of client trust accounting practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

• Maintain employee records, onboarding, and offboarding processes
• Assist with HR compliance, policy updates, and personnel documentation
• Coordinate payroll and benefits administration, including accrual tracking

Accounts Payable & Billing:

• Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable
• Prepare and manage client billing through Clio Manage, including invoicing and payment tracking
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and reconcile accounts with Clio Manage
• Handle client trust accounting in compliance with California trust accounting accounting requirements, including tracking retainers and trust balances
• Coordinate with attorneys and staff regarding billing and client accounts

Required Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience in a law firm or professional office setting
• Experience with legal billing and client account management
• Proficiency in Clio Manage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor and reliability
• High level of discretion in handling confidential employee and financial information

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience with client trust accounting and billing compliance under California guidelines
• Familiarity with criminal defense or law firm operations

Position Details & Compensation:

We are seeking a full-time on-site employee in Dublin, California. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience for a yearly salary range of $75,000 - $110,000. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, long-term disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan. We are also open to considering a part-time arrangement for candidates interested in performing a subset of the role's responsibilities. Compensation for part-time work will be commensurate with experience and scope of duties, with an expected range of $45,000-$75,000.
