Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specalist to join our team in a Contract to permanent capacity. This position is suited for an accounting specialist with experience supporting core general ledger activities and maintaining accurate financial records. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to monthly close processes, reconciliations, and inventory-related accounting while working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Support the month-end close by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and helping finalize ledger balances.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
• Manage inventory-related accounting tasks, including tracking valuation and reviewing inventory adjustments.
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to identify variances and support accurate reporting.
• Use QuickBooks to process accounting activity, generate reports, and keep financial data organized.
• Provide day-to-day accounting support and help coordinate the work of team members when needed. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
• 2-4 years of hands-on accounting experience with exposure to full-cycle general ledger work.
• Practical experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Recent working knowledge of QuickBooks in an accounting environment.
• Solid understanding of general ledger structure and core accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting is required; familiarity with Fishbowl is a plus.
• Ability to oversee or guide up to three staff members is preferred.
