Job Description
Hazard Construction has a need for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Accounting Clerk.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Clerk will assist the Sr. Accounting Manager(s), AP Specialist, Sr Accountant, as well as work closely with both internal departments and vendors to ensure timely processing of accounting functions.Responsibilities will include:
- Opening and distributing Accounting Department mail
- Matching and coding invoices
- Entering invoices into Vista by Viewpoint Accounting Software
- Maintaining Vendor records both in Vista and in hard copy files
- Assisting with weekly Vendor check runs to ensure timely payments to Vendors
- Assisting with collection of documents for other Accounting Staff including but not limited to lien releases, insurance certificates, invoice back up, etc.
- Assisting with Accounting Staff Monthly Close tasks as needed
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR FORMAL TRAINING, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND/OR SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Vista by Viewpoint experience not required, but highly desired
- General Accounting and specifically Accounts Payable experience/knowledge preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive solution seeker
- An outgoing positive attitude while working with both internal and external Customers
- Team player All Hazard Construction positions require satisfactory completion of a physical ability test and clean drug and alcohol screening.
