We are looking for extraordinary people to help us end homelessness in Los Angeles. Founded on the fundamental principle that every person should always be treated with dignity and respect, ICLC fights for justice for low-income tenants, working-poor families, people who are disabled or experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV/AIDS, and homeless veterans.
Position Description:
ICLC seeks an Accounting Specialist for an exciting entry-level opportunity to build a career within nonprofit accounting. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Specialist fills a vital role in the daily operations of the finance team. The successful candidate will be a motivated and self-starter who is excited to learn the functions of a nonprofit finance team. For this entry-level position, an aptitude for quantitative analysis is more important than an understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Being present in-office 4-5 days per week Manage and maintain in-office procedures: ownership of in-office procedures, including verification processes, check distribution, etc.
Manage accounts payable:
data entry, system ownership, staff follow up, vendor follow up, W9 collection Manage company credit cards: card limits, data entry, system ownership (Emburse), staff follow up Payroll processing: Provide support as needed Staff training: connect with new staff to provide training on finance systems and processes
Correspondence:
manage finance team mail, process checks via log Assist with the annual independent audit and program audits Perform other duties as assigned
Hiring Criteria:
Commitment to ICLC's mission and values. Committed to equity, diversity, and racial justice. Bachelor's degree. Familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Excel. Organized and detail-oriented. Able to assume responsibility quickly and independently in a rapidly growing organization. Ability to use good judgment, multi-task, and meet deadlines. In‐depth experience with spreadsheets, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Sage is a plus. Compensation:
Hourly compensation ranges from $27.00-$38.00. Excellent benefits. How to
