Job Title:
Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description The Accounts Receivable Specialist manages a high volume of customer accounts with a focus on keeping accounts current, accurately applying payments, and resolving billing issues. This role emphasizes returns, credits, reconciliations, and general ledger postings rather than heavy collections, and involves regular interaction with customers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions. Responsibilities Scanning, filing, data entry Use the credit file and computer-generated payment status and history reports as primary source materials to identify accounts delinquent more than 13 days past the regular payment due date and work to bring those accounts current and maintain them in good standing. Review order details to identify payment issues and determine appropriate handling for accounts with discrepancies or disputes. Review and handle chargeback claims, including gathering supporting documentation, filing information, and coordinating resolution with appropriate parties. Print daily invoices from the accounting system and ensure they are accurate and ready for distribution. Review and process customer returns, including handling 5-10 returns per day, and manage the associated credits, reconciliations, and refunds. Manage a workload of approximately 50-100 transactions per day and contribute to the accurate processing of a large annual transaction volume. Essential Skills Experience in accounts receivable and accounting, including practical exposure to AR processes and workflows. Proficiency with data entry and handling a high volume of transactions (approximately 50-100 transactions per day). Experience with collections activities, including reviewing delinquent accounts and coordinating appropriate collection actions. Strong attention to detail for reviewing invoices, order details, and customer account information. Work Environment This is a fully in-office position, working Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., with some flexibility on start time as needed. The larger team consists of approximately 23 people, with about 3 people on the immediate accounts receivable team. The office has a quiet atmosphere with an open cubicle layout and a professional, supportive environment. The role involves working on computers with accounting and invoicing systems, handling physical mail periodically, and collaborating with both local and international colleagues. The culture supports internal growth and promotion, and many team members choose to stay in the department or in the same role for years. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
