The Arc of Riverside County is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1953 to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are a state-funded service provider offering community-integrated day programs for over 400 adults with IDD in Western Riverside County. Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper maintains the agency's financial records and accounts, provides accounting support to the financial department, and provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Proven bookkeeping experience, data entry skills, and an understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, including accrual basis accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, are required.
Accounting program used:
NetSuite. Manage and process bi-weekly payroll for all agency employees. Essential Job Duties Processes Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Monthly accounts reconciliation and journal entries. Assist in annual fiscal audit preparation. Processes the end of the monthly billing with our funding agency. Stays up to date with all pertinent State and Federal laws and regulations of wage and hour. Prepare year-end closeout in preparation for W-2's. Enter new hires and benefit deduction changes in NetSuite, assuring accuracy. Manage and process bi-weekly payroll for all agency employees, including calculating and verifying hours worked from the timekeeping program (Bamboo). Enter data and verify for accuracy before processing. Perform administrative duties, such as record management, scheduling interviews and reference checks, job postings, and filing as needed. Provides support to the safety program. Mandating reporting requirements for dependent and elder abuse, as required by WIC Section 15630(b). Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Director of Human Resources. Job Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively Computer competent, including working with spreadsheets and a working knowledge of accounting software, MS Office, Word, and Outlook. Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Must be comfortable working in a team environment Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required Must be able to read and write English and communicate at a level required for successful job performance Must be able to drive and maintain a valid CA Driver's License, clean driving record, and personal auto insurance CPR/First Aid certification (training provided). Not required for temporary position. A background Fingerprint Clearance is required, and the employee must maintain a clear background Fingerprint Clearance throughout employment Regular attendance and punctuality Education/Experience High school diploma. Preferred college coursework or a degree/certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field. Two to three years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience. Work experience for a nonprofit is desirable. Experience administering payroll and proficient in using payroll software. Experience in NetSuite preferred
