Bookkeeper - Construction

Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper with experience in the construction industry to join our team on a contract basis in San Diego, California. This role is vital to ensuring smooth financial operations, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll from start to finish, including timesheet entry and validation.
• Manage accounts payable tasks such as vendor bills, payments, and applying discounts.
• Oversee accounts receivable, including collections and customer follow-ups.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain data accuracy.
• Track and manage gas and store cards, ensuring proper usage and data integrity.
• Support job costing by accurately inputting time and cost data.
• Monitor cash receipts and assist with collections follow-up to ensure timely payments.
• Track sales commissions based on received cash.
• Administer HR functions, including onboarding new hires, benefits management, and timesheet setup.
• Coordinate administrative operations such as vehicle registrations, insurance tracking, and smog compliance. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining financial data integrity.
• Familiarity with job costing practices and accrual accounting.
• Ability to handle full-cycle payroll processing, preferably using ADP.
• Skilled in billing and tracking reimbursements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage administrative tasks effectively.
