Two sides to the business:
recurring monthly IT clients, and construction subcontracts billed against signed contracts with retainage and change orders. Small team. No layers. You report straight to me, the owner. The four things you own Reconciliation. Every bank account, credit card, and line of credit reconciled every month, on a schedule, without me asking. They are not current today and that is the first thing to fix. A/R. We have real money sitting in aging that nobody has worked. You will go through it, figure out what is collectible and what is not, and then actually call customers. Collections is part of this job, not an afterthought. A/P. Bills entered on time, vendor credits applied, payment runs planned instead of reactive. Some vendors have waited too long and I want that fixed and kept clean. Payroll. Run it, track the liabilities, keep filings current, and stay on top of multi-jurisdiction Colorado sales tax. Colorado Springs, Denver, and Aurora all file differently. The cleanup, first 90 days I am not going to pretend this is a maintenance job. You will walk into reconciliations that are behind, an aging report nobody has worked, duplicate accounts on the chart of accounts, old items parked in clearing and suspense accounts going back years, and sales tax spread across more payable accounts than it should be. I need someone who can sort out what is real, tell me straight what is wrong, and build a process so it does not drift again. If you like cleanup work and you get satisfaction out of making a set of books tie, you will like this job. If you want everything organized on day one, this is not it. You will have AI doing the grunt work with you This is not a place where you grind through reports by hand. We run Claude Cowork connected directly to our QuickBooks Online. It pulls the balance sheet, A/R and A/P aging, and P&L on demand, reads and edits invoices, cross-checks what we billed against what we quoted and what the signed contract says, and flags the gaps. I used it last week to catch a sales tax rate error across six invoices and a scope gap against a subcontract. That work used to take a day.
