Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Cape Coral, Florida. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing transactional accounting, keeping records accurate, and maintaining organized financial data across multiple processes. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring timely reporting, dependable account maintenance, and smooth coordination of payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records by entering, classifying, and updating daily accounting transactions in the appropriate systems.
- Process vendor invoices, verify payment details, and help ensure accounts payable activities are completed on schedule.
- Monitor incoming payments, record customer receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Use QuickBooks and Sage 300 to manage bookkeeping tasks, review entries, and support reliable financial recordkeeping.
- Assist with month-end close activities by preparing supporting documentation and confirming account balances are current.
- Organize accounting files and maintain clear documentation to support audits, reporting needs, and internal review.
- Collaborate with team members to improve bookkeeping workflows and support any accounting system-related updates as needed. Requirements
- Proven experience performing full-cycle bookkeeping in a detail-focused business environment.
- Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks and working knowledge of Sage 300.
- Practical experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and well-organized financial records.
- Comfortable managing multiple accounting tasks while meeting deadlines in a contract-based role.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of standard accounting practices, financial documentation, and transaction review.
