Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay:
$30.50/hour, with higher pay available depending on experienceSchedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Position Summary We are hiring an Accounting & Payroll Specialist to handle weekly payroll, payroll tax activities, employee reimbursements, and a variety of accounting and employee-support functions. The right candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with confidential payroll and financial information while managing multiple deadlines. What You'll Handle Payroll & Employee Support Process weekly payroll for office and field employees. Maintain payroll records and review payroll processing systems for accuracy and timely processing. Enter and verify employee changes, including new hires, terminations, pay-rate changes, benefits, 401(k), garnishments, taxes, and other deductions . Prepare, balance, and review payroll transactions and related records. Process weekly employee expense reimbursements. Provide administrative support to Human Resources as needed. Payroll Tax & Compliance Prepare and submit payroll tax filings on a weekly, quarterly, and year-end basis. Assist with year-end payroll requirements, including W-2 preparation and processing . Maintain appropriate payroll records and documentation. Support internal and external audits by gathering requested records and information. Accounting & Administrative Duties Assist the Accounting Department with day-to-day accounting activities. Process and reconcile company credit card transactions . Download and upload weekly data files related to health and dental insurance . Maintain accurate financial and employee records. Help ensure payroll and accounting information is complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required , or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 3+ years of related experience . Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including: Payroll preparation and balancing Payroll taxes Internal controls Employee deductions and benefits Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while supporting HR and Accounting functions.
