Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Project Accountant for a high-impact, fixed-term initiative focused on the total health of our Balance Sheet. This role is divided into three critical phases: Reconciliations Catch-up and Clean-up, Process Standardization, and System Implementation Support. You will be responsible for digging into years of transactional history, identifying aging items, and building the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that will govern our financial integrity moving forward.

$35 - $45 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5

BachelorsResponsibilities Tackle a significant backlog of unreconciled accounts, ensuring every line item is accounted for and verified. Analyze completed reconciliations to verify the accuracy of the underlying data and its original entry point. Determine the current status of open items on the balance sheet, investigating why they are lingering, how they flow through our current ledger, and their current risk status. Ensure all accounts are substantiated with appropriate supporting documentation to meet internal and external audit standards. Design and implement a standardized Account Reconciliation SOP template to be used across the entire finance department. Map out the lifecycle of key balance sheet accounts to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure clear ownership. Establish Best Practice guidelines for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliation cycles. Act as the gatekeeper for balance sheet data moving into the new ERP system, ensuring only clean, reconciled data is migrated.
