We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with construction industry knowledge to join our accounting team. Position Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing customer invoicing, collections, payment processing, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the construction industry and a strong understanding of progress billing, lien waivers, retainage, and contract administration. Key Responsibilities Generate and submit customer invoices accurately and on time. Manage progress billing and percentage-of-completion billing. Track and reconcile retainage receivables. Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances. Process customer payments and apply cash receipts. Prepare account reconciliations and aging reports. Coordinate with project managers regarding billing and contract changes. Review contracts to ensure billing compliance. Maintain lien waiver documentation and related records. Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting. Communicate professionally with customers regarding account inquiries. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience. Construction industry accounting experience required. Knowledge of progress billing, retainage, AIA billing, and lien waivers. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with construction accounting software. Familiarity with subcontractor and contractor billing processes. Experience working in a fast-paced construction environment.
