Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support ongoing financial operations for a contract opportunity with permanent potential based in Melbourne, Florida. This role is ideal for someone who can manage recurring reconciliations, maintain accurate records, and provide dependable accounting support on a part-time schedule. The position requires hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and the ability to work independently while keeping financial data organized and current.
Responsibilities:
- Complete bi-weekly reconciliation of insurance remittance advice and claim-related financial records to ensure accuracy and timely balancing.
- Perform monthly book reconciliation and review account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including preparing journal entries tied to routine transactions.
- Maintain bookkeeping records in QuickBooks Online and keep financial information updated and properly categorized.
- Assist with payroll-related recordkeeping and ensure supporting documentation is reflected correctly in the books.
- Work on a scheduled onsite basis for approximately 8 hours per month, divided across two designated days.
- Communicate any irregularities in financial data and help keep accounting records aligned with reporting needs. Requirements
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online for day-to-day financial record management.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entry preparation.
- Experience completing bank or account reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with payroll support and related bookkeeping documentation.
- Ability to manage recurring monthly and bi-weekly accounting tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information.
