Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM | Fully Onsite We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join a fast-paced laboratory organization serving the cannabis and hemp industry. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and is ideal for a proactive accounting professional with hands-on experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Responsibilities:
Process and apply customer payments accurately and promptly. Reconcile accounts receivable and ensure cash transactions are properly recorded. Research and resolve payment discrepancies. Prepare cash application and outstanding receivables reports. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end close and financial reporting. Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Provide financial documentation for audits. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
3+ years of accounting experience. Cash applications and accounts receivable experience required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Sage experience preferred; Sage X3 is a strong plus. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Must be comfortable working fully onsite in a cannabis-testing laboratory environment, where the smell of cannabis may be present. Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check. Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
