Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our Interior Design and Contractor Firms. In this vital role, you will manage a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, payroll, and compliance across financial records. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial systems, support budgeting processes, and facilitate smooth operations for corporate accounting activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an organization committed to transparency, efficiency, and excellence in financial management. Duties Record and process journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks Avalar, or similar systems Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain healthy cash flow Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including tax filings and compliance with payroll regulations Maintain general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting standards Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making Reconcile accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly Support governmental accounting requirements for nonprofit organizations or public entities as needed Requirements Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or comparable systems with certification in Quickbooks Strong knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards (if applicable), and financial concepts Experience with payroll processing, multi-state tax filings, and account reconciliation procedures Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately and efficiently for data entry tasks Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Ability to work directly with CPA firm.
