Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Fiscal Assistant is responsible for various clerical and administrative duties in the accounting department. As a fiscal assistant, you collect information, pull records, maintain organizational accounting records, perform weekly bank deposits, and complete annual financial reports. Work is performed under the Chief Financial Officer's supervision with interaction with the Accounts Manager, Paralegal, and Guardian Representatives. The Fiscal Assistant's primary responsibility is to complete annual court reports and maintain the organization's accounting records. Prepare annual court reports for accuracy and ensure all financial expenditures are accounted for. Prepare and perform weekly remote bank deposits. Update ward accounting reports on QuickBooks. Maintain a variety of hard copies and/or electronic documents and records. Responds to annual accounting inquiries and information related to facility balances. Maintain files and records according to established retention procedures. Provide financial support by completing yearly reports for the private fiduciary services division of the organization. Attends meetings and training as requested. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree from an accredited two-year college or four-year experience in accounting or administrative work, two years of which must have been in a finance-related position. Must have at least two years of experience in accounting or related experience. Must undergo a criminal and credit history. Perform mathematical computations rapidly and accurately. Must have a general understanding of human services and public benefits. Must enjoy working with older adults and persons with disabilities. Requires regional travel within approximately a 100-mile radius from the central office for quarterly all staff meetings. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer database management systems. Ability to research problems in a variety of staff support areas. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, manage large workloads and keep deadlines. Ability to work independently within a defined framework. QuickBooks experience preferred.
Normal Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm Part-time Hourly Medical, dental, vision, and group life insurance
Generous Paid Time Off and Annual Holidays Pay:
$30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
