Job Description

Job Summary A Sioux City area accounting firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll/Bookkeeper to join our organization. This vital role involves managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting various accounting functions to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key part in processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting within a dynamic environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization while utilizing advanced payroll and accounting software tools. •
QUICKBOOKS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Duties Process payroll accurately and timely using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Maintain employee records related to compensation, benefits, and deductions within HRIS platforms. Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts through double entry bookkeeping and journal entries. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments using accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft. Perform account reconciliations for various financial accounts, including bank statements, benefits administration accounts, and governmental reporting requirements. Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollments, changes, and compliance documentation. Support non-profit or governmental accounting procedures when applicable, ensuring adherence to specific regulations. Enter data accurately into financial software systems while maintaining high standards of data entry quality. Prepare reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and other financial analysis to support management decision-making. #SCO Collaborate with human resources and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with HRIS systems. Conduct periodic analysis of accounts to identify discrepancies or irregularities requiring investigation or correction. Experience Minimum of four year's experience in payroll management combined with bookkeeping responsibilities within diverse organizational settings. Proficiency in payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or Ceridian. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and journal entries. Experience working with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks and PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing and benefits administration. Demonstrated understanding of human resources systems (HRIS) integration with payroll processes. Excellent analysis skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate financial recordkeeping. Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently along with double entry bookkeeping tasks accurately.
