Job Description

The DeKalb County RehabilitationNursing Center is seeking an Accounting Clerk for its Business Office. This is a day shift position working full time (7.75 hours per day, 38.75 hour per week), Monday-Friday with some evenings/weekends possible. The responsibilities of this position include: Complete and reconcile the daily census Maintain patient financial files, update accounts receivable information and verify benefits Prepare and submit billing for multiple payers Generate and distribute private pay statements Follow up on overdue accounts, coordinate collections activities Distribute and manage incoming mail Gather and input ancillary charges Deposit cash receipts and post payments Accounts receivable management Assist with the completion of Medicaid packets and Medicaid redeterminations Oversee Medicare Part B therapy authorizations Oversee appeals on claims denials (clinical appeals done by MDS Coordinator) Support regulatory audits as needed Assist residents and families with billing questions Oversee the follow up for insurance claims Provide cross-functionality with the other existing positions Financial/accounting experience is preferred. Good communication and documentation skills are essential. Previous experience with Medicaid, Medicare, Insurance and nursing home billing/financials is preferred.
