Job Description
Our client, a growing small business, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to provide ongoing accounting support on an as-needed basis. This flexible role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional who enjoys working with small businesses, managing day-to-day financial operations, and helping business owners stay organized and informed.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate financial records and record daily transactionsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable activitiesPerform bank and credit card reconciliationsProcess payroll or coordinate payroll activities as neededAssist with month-end and year-end close proceduresPrepare basic financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cash flow summariesMonitor cash flow and help maintain organized financial recordsSupport budgeting and financial planning efforts when requestedCoordinate with external accountants or tax professionalsEnsure compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulationsAssist with special projects and additional bookkeeping needs as they ariseQualificationsPrevious bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting small businessesProficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or similar platformsStrong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functionsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage changing prioritiesStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesScheduleThis position is part-time and as-needed, with hours varying based on business demands. The ideal candidate is flexible and available to provide support during busy periods, month-end close activities, special projects, and other accounting-related needs.
