Accounting Specialist Toyotetsu America Inc - Somerset, KY 42503 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift First Category Administration Apply Description TTAI has an opening for one Accounting Specialist in the Accounting Department. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager. The Accounting Specialist position requires strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter capable of applying conceptual frameworks to real world situations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support closing process through the preparation of journal entries, calculation of accruals and general ledger account reconciliations. Maintain project cost tracking program relying on company policy and US GAAP to determine proper classification of capital and general expenses. Serve as primary point of contact for policy questions and explanations related to capital asset accounting. Prepare capital asset additions, sales, retirements and transfers ensuring all transactions are recorded properly according to company capitalization standards and US GAAP. Create and present budget vs actual analysis for capital projects to management. Support Cost Reduction program(s) by identifying budgetary impact of cost reduction activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field from an accredited school Excellent understanding and working knowledge of GAAP and best-in-class asset-related accounting practices Ability to work efficiently and productively in a multi-task deadline-oriented environment independently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills. Ability to explain complex accounting ideas and principles to accounting and non-accounting professionals. Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and maintains high quality of work.
