Job Summary:
The accounts payable employee is responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the brand. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and payment of goods and services.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Processes invoices in computer system. Open mail daily if needed. Communicates with co-workers, management, clients and others regarding purchases. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Complete filing of retained documents daily and adhere to the record retention policy. Participate as needed in audits completed internally or by a third party. Follow all company guidelines as they pertain to behavior, loss prevention and safety. Perform other duties similar to those above as assigned by the controller or other qualified corporate or platform representative.
Qualifications:
A successful Accounts Payable employee will embrace thoroughness when reviewing invoices and processing them for payment. They must have the technical capacity to efficiently operate a computer and familiarity with payables systems. An understanding of financial management will help develop the credibility of the Account Payables employee with vendors and ensure personal effectiveness. This position requires one year of Accounts Payable experience and a high school education. The ability to complete basic calculations and enter data into a payables system is critical to the success of an Accounts Payable employee. The position is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
