Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our homeowners insurance company. This position supports the accounting department by processing daily financial transactions, assisting with policyholder and agent payment activity, and helping ensure accurate and timely handling of disbursements and payables. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment with a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Post policyholder premium payments accurately and timely into the company's accounting or policy management systems Issue policy refunds in accordance with company procedures Print and process claims checks for distribution Communicate with agents regarding payment-related questions, discrepancies, and account issues Process accounts payable invoices, including coding, entry, and routing for approval Maintain accurate records of payments, refunds, checks, and vendor invoices Assist with reconciling payment activity and researching discrepancies Support daily deposit and cash application functions as needed Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries related to billing, payments, and disbursements Ensure assigned tasks are completed in compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
