Accounting Coordinator Reports to:
Accounting Manager FLSA Classification:
Exempt Travel:
>30% Purpose The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily payroll and accounting operations with a focus on payroll, expense processing, reconciliations, and accuracy of employee-related financial data. This role assists the accounting team as needed in general accounting tasks, financial record maintenance, and reporting. The Accounting Coordinator ensures payroll and expenses are recorded correctly and timely, supports compliance with internal controls, and upholds the organization's financial standards. This position does not include onboarding responsibilities. Activities and Responsibilities Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Verifying expense reports and preparing payments for employees Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures. Address and respond to vendor inquiries. Accounts payable invoice, data entry and payments Assist with company invoicing. Assisting with audit support as necessary Assist and backup team members with other accounting tasks including but not limited to cash receipts and invoicing. Required Skills/Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of AP and AR practices Knowledge and experience with financial reporting and general ledger work Knowledge of amortization schedules Tax preparation and payments with third party Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Deltek Vision is helpful but not required Ability to apply accounting principles to work when needed Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently Bachelor's or Associate Degree in accounting or other related field Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounting or related administrative roles required. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Consistently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Must be able to travel to various offices as needed.
