Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Specialist with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Journal Entries to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing receivables, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Your expertise will help streamline financial processes, support audit readiness, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a fast-paced insurance environment while supporting operational excellence and client service. Responsibilities Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, premium payment tracking, and account analysis to support timely cash flow. Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately within accounting systems such as QuickBooks and Excel. Reconcile accounts receivable and general ledger accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures by verifying transaction accuracy and preparing supporting documentation for audits. Support billing and policy accounting operations by coordinating with internal departments including underwriting, claims, and customer service teams. Conduct detailed account analysis to identify trends, variances, or irregularities in financial data and provide insights to management. Maintain accurate financial records and support continuous process improvement initiatives within the accounting department. Qualifications 3-6+ years of experience in accounting operations, including accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting in an insurance, financial services, or corporate accounting environment. Solid understanding of accounting principles including debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial reporting processes. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external clients. #RJAF123
