Job Description
Position Overview Montgomery Irrigation is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Accounting Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in the daily financial operations of the company and is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing billing, and supporting a variety of administrative accounting functions. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities while working independently. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members. Primary Responsibilities Manage and audit all Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Enter and process customer payments and vendor invoices Review, prepare, and send billing batches Manage and reconcile company credit card transactions Complete monthly credit card reconciliations Audit monthly installation billing for accuracy Review picking tickets to ensure proper General Ledger (G/L) coding within the accounting system Enter billing breakdowns into QuickBooks Desktop for multiple company branches Track and manage customer credits Submit all AIA billing accurately and on time Process Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and W-9 requests Maintain current records for subcontractor COIs and W-9s Process and distribute all incoming mail daily Manage company vehicle records, including insurance cards, emissions testing, and registration renewals Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Self-motivated with excellent time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities Preferred Continued education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business, or a related field Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Experience with ServiceTitan Experience with Emburse or similar expense management software Maryland Notary Public Benefits Competitive salary starting at $50,000+, based on experience Health insurance 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave Paid Holidays Profit Sharing Stable, full-time employment with a well-established, family-owned company Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys creating organization, keeping accurate financial records, and taking ownership of their work.
