Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Office Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team! This vital role combines administrative support with comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities, ensuring smooth office operations and accurate financial management. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, precision, and a strong foundation in accounting systems to help us maintain efficient workflows and reliable financial records. Duties Manage day-to-day office administration, including filing, correspondence, and scheduling appointments Perform bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, processing invoices, and maintaining financial records using accounting software like QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including issuing payments and tracking outstanding balances Prepare financial reports, journal entries, and assist with budgeting and financial analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while maintaining payroll records Maintain organized spreadsheets for tracking expenses, income, and other financial data; conduct account analysis and account reconciliation as needed Qualifications Proven experience with bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally within corporate or non-profit settings Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of accounting standards, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10-key typing, and bank reconciliation procedures Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and prepare clear financial reports Join us to be part of an energetic team committed to operational excellence!
