Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Westbrook, Maine. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing core accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, and keeping transactions organized in QuickBooks. The successful candidate will help ensure timely processing of payables and receivables while supporting reliable account reconciliation and overall financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing supporting documentation.
  • Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and monitor outstanding obligations to keep accounts payable current.
  • Issue customer invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on open balances to support accounts receivable activities.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and resolve variances promptly.
  • Use QuickBooks to enter, review, and update accounting information with a high level of accuracy.
  • Prepare routine financial reports and summaries to support visibility into account activity and cash flow.
  • Verify transaction details and supporting records to help maintain compliance with internal accounting practices.
  • Assist with cleanup or updates to financial data when accounting processes or recordkeeping methods require adjustment.
