Job Description
Description Our client, a growing company in the engineering industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with administrative support experience for a long-term, fully onsite opportunity in Ann Arbor. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting-related responsibilities with general office support and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Pay up to $21/hr. This role is long term.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-volume and accurate data entry Assist with invoicing, including creating and processing invoices Post payments and maintain accurate financial records Support the proposal process with documentation and administrative coordination Assist with payroll data entry Provide general administrative support to the office and accounting team Handle phone coverage and direct calls professionally Maintain organized records, files, and supporting documentation Use Excel to track, update, and report data as needed Work within internal systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting and administrative tasksQualifications:
1+ years of experience in an accounting clerk, administrative assistant, or similar support role Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Experience with invoicing, payment posting, and invoice creation Exposure to payroll entry or payroll support preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills required Ability to multitask and manage both accounting and administrative duties effectively detail oriented communication skills and comfort handling phone coverage Experience with SAP is a plus Prior experience in the engineering, construction, or detail oriented services industry is helpful but not required Requirements- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting support, administrative support, or similar clerical role.
- Demonstrated ability to perform precise data entry in a fast-paced work environment.
- Hands-on experience with invoicing, payment application, and general accounts receivable or accounts payable activities.
- Working knowledge of payroll data support or payroll entry is preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to manage and update spreadsheets efficiently.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is beneficial.
- Ability to balance accounting responsibilities with general office support while staying organized and detail focused.
