Job Description
Title :
Staff Accountant /Finance Associate Reports To :
Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities :
- Process and manage weekly/bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and all other respective changes.
- Review timesheets and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with managers and Human Resources.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner
- Prepare and process payroll journal entries and accruals
- Process project setups ensuring budgets and terms align to contracts
- Process project closeouts
- Prepare and submit insurance audits
- Weekly credit card import into ERP, and reconciliation of transactions
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- 1099 preparation and processing / filing (yearly)
- Manage and track employee receivables (i.e., personal charge on company cc) and prepare deduction form and coordinate with key stakeholders
- Assumed name renewals (yearly)
- State Engineering License Renewals (yearly)
- Bring in, sort, and distribute company mail (as needed)
- Office supply ordering & inventory tracking (as needed)
- Preparing and posting journal entries (as needed)
- Supporting with month-end close processes
- Supporting with year-end close processes
- Supporting with Annual Financial Review
- Supporting with Annual Tax Preparation
- Updates finance ready reference material & training documents (as needed)
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in accounting or finance, or 3 years' experience in similar role
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with multiple subsidiaries/intercompany transactions
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, meets deadlines, and strong ability to reprioritize
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to self-start, investigate issues, and bring possible solutions
- Experience working within an ERP system (Ajera or ComputerEase a plus)
- Strong data-entry
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with others
- Experience working in
Excel Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to operate in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Travel Percentage:
Little to no travel required for this position. In the event that travel is required (company event or urgent need), you will be made aware in advance and any/all arrangements will be made to accommodate you.Benefits:
