(HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages. The Accounting Clerk works out of the corporate office located in Livonia. The position supports an employee base of 450 - 500 employees in accounting and payroll areas.
Requirements:
High School degree or GED required. Associate degree preferred. Two to three years of relevant accounting experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, etc. Experience using finacial system software. Strong preference for work experience in healthcare or a service industry. Good communication and service orientation. Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will keep and update financial records as directed by finance/accounting leadership, compute bills and charges, offer customer (internal and external) assistance and carryout financial transactions. Inputs data for computerized processing of general ledger transactions and/or payroll. Processes invoices and check requests. Assists in the review and processing of employee time. Responds to payroll inquiries. Meticulous attention to detail. Assists in the tracking and maintaining records of employee leave time. Prepares documentation for contracts, transactions or regulatory compliance. Prepares cash receipts daily for EFT payments received and physical checks received via US mail and forwards to Billing Department for processing. Verifies accuracy of financial or transactional data Executes financial transactions. Collects deposits, payments or fees. Calculates financial data. Search files, databases or reference materials to obtain needed information. Perform assigned tasks within required deadlines. •
