Job Description

Position Summary SuperNova International and AP Lazer® are seeking an experienced, dependable Senior Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple U.S. and Canadian companies. This is a hands-on position supporting SuperNova International, AP Lazer USA, and AP Lazer Canada MFG Inc. The ideal candidate has at least five years of bookkeeping experience and a strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian accounting, payroll, sales taxes, GST/HST, inventory, and intercompany transactions. You will work closely with our CPA and general manager to maintain accurate financial records, complete timely monthly closings, strengthen accounting controls, and provide reliable financial information to management. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple U.S. and Canadian companies. Maintain accurate general ledgers in QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, merchant accounts, and balance-sheet accounts. Process U.S. and Canadian payroll and reconcile payroll liabilities. Record and reconcile transactions in both U.S. and Canadian dollars. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations between U.S. and Canadian entities. Maintain accurate inventory, cost-of-goods-sold, freight, duties, and landed-cost records. Reconcile financial and inventory information across QuickBooks Enterprise, Acctivate, and Fishbowl. Maintain fixed-asset and depreciation schedules. Prepare month-end journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations. Complete month-end closing accurately and on schedule. Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules for management. Support cash-flow reporting and vendor-payment planning. Assist our CPA with year-end closing, tax preparation, audits, and compliance. Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and accounting errors. Help improve and document bookkeeping procedures and internal controls. Required Qualifications Five or more years of professional bookkeeping experience. Experience performing full-cycle bookkeeping. Experience working with both U.S. and Canadian businesses. Strong knowledge of accrual-basis accounting. Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple legal entities. Experience with U.S. and Canadian payroll. Knowledge of U.S. sales tax and Canadian GST/HST reporting. Experience with intercompany and foreign-currency transactions. Strong QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop experience. Experience with inventory-based, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution businesses. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities. High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work full-time onsite at our Mason, Michigan office. Preferred Qualifications Accounting or bookkeeping degree, diploma, or professional certification. Experience with Acctivate or Fishbowl inventory systems is a plus. Experience reconciling inventory across multiple systems and locations. Experience with HubSpot, Shopify, e-commerce, or merchant-payment systems. Experience improving month-end closing procedures and accounting controls. Experience supporting CPAs, audits, and year-end tax preparation. Experience with Acctivate, HubSpot, Shopify, and Fishbowl is preferred but not required. Training may be provided to an otherwise well-qualified candidate. What Success Looks Like Accurate and current books for every company. Month-end closing completed consistently and on schedule. Bank, credit card, inventory, payroll, tax, and intercompany accounts fully reconciled. U.S. sales tax and Canadian GST/HST returns filed accurately and on time. Reliable financial information available to management. Fewer accounting discrepancies and year-end adjustments. Consistent, well-documented bookkeeping procedures across all companies.
